Flower Power Demo
A downloadable game for Windows and Linux
STORY
Bloomvale is in a crisis!!! The wicked Skull Witch and her Skull Soldiers have seized Bloomvale Castle and withered the Lotus Of Life! Flora, armed with her magic watering can and her wits, sets out on an adventure within the castle walls to kick out the Skull Witch, revive the Lotus, and save all of Bloomvale! Traverse the sacred gardens throughout the castle, jump and dodge the Skull Witch's minions, and bring back the light to the castle, one flower at a time!
In this demo, you'll be playing through 5 levels, including the first boss fight of the game. The final release set in late March will have some changes during development.

WHAT IS FLOWER POWER?
Flower Power is an NES-Style game with vector art graphics, which adheres to the limitations of the NES Color Palette. (Only the number of colors for the sprites, background, and foreground elements.) A game made for nostalgia lovers, and new players of the industry. It has been my quest to make a game that's not only simple and fun to enjoy, but also have the same replayability as Kirby's Dreamland for the Game Boy. This takes gimmicks from Pac-Man, Burger Time, and Hello Kitty no Hanabatake (Hello Kitty's Flower Shop), to deliver a modern day game with a classic vibe like no other.

Made a video
Thanks you for trying out the demo of my project, and thank you SO much for this awesome video. I hope you look forward to the full release.
Just played through the demo. It's fun! I'm happy that the controls feel tight and allowed me to fluidly perform actions such as jumping onto a ladder and starting a climb in midair. The visuals and audio are also very clean and feel very appropriate for an arcade-style game.
My only small critique is that I feel like watering flowers takes just a few seconds too long and and ends up slowing the action down. I think I would prefer having more flowers placed across the levels or more aggressive enemies/bosses in exchange for being able to water flowers faster, but if you're aiming for a more casual and slow-paced game, I can understand that too.
Overall, I'm looking forward to seeing where further development leads for this game! I think this demo could eventually turn into a really fun full release with some more content and depth!
Glad to hear that you've enjoyed the demo. As for the development of the full game, difficulty progression has been taken in full consideration as I've been making this game, especially with more flowers and the enemy AI. Appreciate the feedback, and thank you for playing.
This looks incredible, I'm amazed! The use of color even on the site is phenomenal. It's so pleasant to look at. Will save up for the full release.
Glad to hear it. And thanks for trying out the demo. 😉👍
